Welcome to the very first episode of divorce magazine, Canada's brand new podcast. I'm so excited you're here. And I'm gonna give you a little history of how this happened and where this all started. Divorce magazine Canada started 10 years ago, we have just published the 11th issue. And I am the new owner, and publisher of this magazine. Dorothy Briggs, a phenomenal, brilliant woman is such an inspiration to so many people. And this is just one of the amazing publications that she founded and developed and has grown. She has published this for 10 years, and the 11th edition has just rollin, rollin off the presses hot off the press, and is a complementary publication that's available to people across Alberta. So watch for it in your grocery stores, transit stations, offices, banks, you name it, it's going to be in so many places. If you don't find a copy, you can also find PDF downloadable copies of the magazine from this year and all the past years on our website at divorce magazine canada.com. So be sure to check those out. Now a little bit more about what this magazine has inside the covers. There are so many experts and professionals and organizations that are out there ready to help you through this difficult transition of separation and divorce. Now it doesn't matter if you are considering if you're going through it or if you're coming out the other end. And even if it's been years past, anybody who's been through it knows that there are so many different stages, there's so many things to consider and to deal with. And a lot of times, we aren't even aware of who's out there available to help us. things come up that we didn't realize were going to be part of the whole process. And there are people available to help. They care they want to help. And there's a whole network of them out there. So what divorce magazine Canada is, is a resource, a collection of many of the service providers or organizations that can help and support you through all of this. So you're not alone. There's an incredible array of very caring, knowledgeable and experienced people to help you. And I'm so excited to be able to bring them to you and introduce you to them and help you through all of this. There are some really exciting ways that I can help you find them and get the support that you need. So in this episode is a little introduction, just to tell you more about what we will have going on. In 2023. Some things have been around for a while some things have been reimagined and adjusted. We've heard some feedback, we're always looking to improve and to offer the best possible resources for you. And there's some new things coming up as well. So to start off, we have the complimentary publication that is available. The magazine itself, it's a 48 page magazine. It's got a lot of information for you and I hope that you can get your hands on it or you can find it on our website. as well, twice, monthly, two times a month, every two weeks. There are monthly online divorce resource groups. And those can be accessed through meetup. And those are online. They're fully accessible, you can join from the privacy and comfort of your own home. And there's two different formats. So one is a learn group, and the other is a connect group. And on the Learn group, we are going to be featuring keynote speakers, some of our experts who will be talking about certain topics. And those topics are all available. When you go on our events page. There's links there to the groups, they're free of charge, you can join them, there's no cost, you can listen in and learn more about different topics from Are you ready? What are some things you should consider? What about the kids the finances, your house and property, many different topics and some really experienced knowledgeable people that will be talking on those. And then we have a connect group, where you can come on, you can meet some of these experts. And it's just a chance to have a conversation or listen in or ask questions, you will be able to connect with other service providers. If that is your specialty, and you want to build out a network, you might have clients who come to you and say, I'm also needing help in this other area. And maybe that's not an area of your expertise. So if you can meet and get to know others who also help people in an area that you don't currently help in, then that is very beneficial. Because you will then be seen as somebody who cares not only just about the business that you are offering, but also how you can help people with other issues that they might be facing during these during these times. And if you are going through something or you have family or friends who are and you are looking for more information, this is a perfect place to be able to connect and find out who's out there for service providers. You can hear up from others, different stages, they might be in things that they've experienced recommendations they would have. And there is so much support and connection through connecting with other people in these groups. So I really hope you'll check us out, pop in, you don't have to speak you don't even have to turn your camera on. It's all done over zoom. It's online. The learn groups are done on Tuesdays at noon, every four weeks, and then on the Thursdays every four weeks. So it alternates every two weeks. Once on a Tuesday, two weeks later, we meet on a Thursday, the connect groups are on Thursday evenings at seven o'clock. So hopefully you can join us and pop in for some of those.
